Well, I've been in Colorado for more than a week and it's been great. The reunion was lots of fun, and just being here is good for me. Since I drove, I picked up some chokecherry syrup and some mead. My grandmother used to make chokecherry syrup and there's nothing quite like it. About 6 years ago, I found some on the net and ordered it. The company adds pectin to help preserve it or, I suspect, make the chokecherries go farther because they're damn hard to pick. It was not good stuff. My parents found a place in that sells the syrup in Grand Junction. I tried some the other day, and made the 140 mile round trip to pick up three bottles of it. I'm going to be making lots of pancakes, I suspect. I head back on Sunday.
